Sharing the Sky

Sharing the sky means more than setting up a telescope - it's about sparking wonder. For over a decade, The Avid Astronomer has volunteered time and gear to bring the cosmos down to Earth. Outreach happens in parks, schools, and city sidewalks - where people see Saturn's rings or the Moon's craters with their own eyes. It's explaining eclipses, spacecraft, and what's next for NASA. Sometimes it's a STEM night presentation; other times, it's helping a kid see Jupiter while holding a slice of pizza.

Outreach is connection - between people and planets, between curiosity and understanding. And it all begins with that first look through the eyepiece.
